Membership Privileges:
Privileges for all members include:
- Access to the Club property, enhanced web site access, and receive the Club newsletter
- Attend, participate in, and contribute to Club meetings, racing seminars, Club social gatherings, and organized day-sailing activities
- Store, launch, and maintain personally owned sailboats at the Club grounds
- Sail in Club-organized race series and regattas with their own boat
- Utilize the clubhouse and grounds for private social gatherings with prior board approval
Applying for Membership:
Unless you have ample recent experience sailing dinghy's, Please do not buy a boat on Craigslist, thinking that's the place to start. It's much better to arrange a meeting with us first, so we can help you determine appropriate boat options that match your needs and interests.

The next step is to contact our Membership Chair and arrange a meeting for a tour of the facility, a review of club policies, and a discussion of an applicant's interest in VLSC. The Membership Chair is responsible for ensuring all application requirements have been met in full, and only after meeting with our Membership Chair can an application be considered for submission to the Board at the next regular board meeting. At that time the application must be submitted with all fees, payments, dues, and assessments.
No applicant shall become a member of the Club until the application has been approved by a majority vote of the Board. If the applicant is rejected, all fees shall be returned.
